HINDS HOSPICE CENTER FOR GRIEF AND HEALING
 After
the death of a loved one, the support system of Hinds
Hospice does not end.
Our social workers and bereavement (grief) counselors are here
to help and guide the bereaved through their grief and
mourning.
Hinds Hospice has provided bereavement (grief and healing) services
for many years to family members of hospice patients.
Over the last several years, however, requests for support
and
counseling began coming from community members in Fresno, Madera and Merced
counties. With all of the referrals and requests, it became apparent that the
need for grief support in our community is very great. Based on the needs expressed,
and our belief that bereavement services are so important to the grieving process,
we have developed the Hinds Hospice Center for Grief and Healing to provide services to individuals and families who are
mourning a loss regardless of using hospice services.
For those grieving the death
of a loved one, we offer the following supportive care
programs:
- monthly letters and articles which provide support
and grief education,
- telephone support,
- low cost individual and
family counseling by licensed grief
counselors,
- grief support groups (closed groups) specific to the type of loss,
- grief education presentations and resources
for organizations and schools.
Part of the Center for Grief and Healing is the Angel Babies/Bebitos Angelitos program whose mission is to comfort, support and uphold the dignity of families whose babies have a life-limiting condition or whose baby has died. Please click here for more information on this special program.
